Shavonda Sisson (she/her)

Shavonda Sisson is a Black woman, radical changemaker, mother, and Black joy curator with a background in operations and a deep commitment to building a more just and equitable society. She currently serves as Operations Manager at Faithful America and as a board member of Public Allies National. She is also an alumna of Public Allies Wisconsin and continues to live out its mission through her leadership, service, and community work.

From 2017 to 2022, Ms. Sisson served as Program Manager and then Director of Ally and Alumni Programs at Public Allies Milwaukee. Recognizing the power of community, the strength of networks, and the clarity of her voice, Shavonda also leveraged her social media platform to launch Love on Black Women, a people driven fund that disburses 100 percent of all funds raised directly to Black women and femmes in Milwaukee who have identified a need for financial support. Since its launch in February 2019, Love on Black Women has helped families secure housing, cover educational expenses, access medication, fill refrigerators, and support women escaping intimate partner violence.
