Rev. Hunter Greene (he/him)

National Organizing Strategist

Rev. Hunter has been with Faithful America since the beginning of 2024 and oversees much of Faithful America's offline organizing program. He is passionate about building online and offline power for progressive social change, particularly in faith-based spaces and communities. As an ordained Baptist minister, Hunter deeply believes in the possibility of social transformation when people of faith come together to build alternative communities of solidarity and resistance.

Hunter has been in ministry -- as a preacher, pastor, and lay leader -- for over a decade. It was his experiences pastoring a congregation in rural Appalachia that, ultimately, led him to pursue a career in community organizing and movement building. Since then, he has worked with churches, community organizations, the Industrial Areas Foundation, and now Faithful America to organize and mobilize grassroots people power.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Humanities from Milligan College and a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School. During seminary, Rev. Hunter focused his studies on faith-based organizing and social transformation. As an extension of his academic work, he is also a writer who often explores the intersection of Christian Liberation Theology, community organizing, and the culture of the American South. In his freetime, you will often find Hunter reading, writing, playing basketball, or cheering on his favorite team, the Tennessee Vols.

If you'd like to meet with Rev. Hunter to discuss local organizing with other Faithful America members in your area, please reach out to him via email at organizing@faithfulamerica.org.
